Wedding Themes With A Fruity Feel

There are so many ways in which you can create a zesty, delicious and mouth watering fruity wedding theme that will ensure your wedding stands out from all the rest. This article highlights different ways in which you can style your wedding stationery, venue decor and favours in accordance with this juicy theme.

Firstly, you should start by selecting a pallet from which to work. In other words, if you would like to create a zesty lemon-lime themed wedding, you will need to work from a base of citrus tones, yellows, soft greens and touches of white. Alternatively, you may opt for a cheery cherry theme in which case you can take your inspiration from deep red tones, fuchsia pinks, scarlet and burgundy pallets. For those wanting an exotic and tropical feel, choose vibrant yellow and orange shades to bring a sense of sunshine into your wedding.

Next we need to ensure that your main colours are dominant throughout your wedding attire. Choose fruit coloured bridesmaid dresses and men's cravats to get your bold colour scheme rolling. Next, choose wedding invitations that accent your fruit flavoured event. Dried limes in your centrepieces and fruit stalks in bridesmaid posies will finish ensure the theme is carried through each area of your wedding day. Remember that if are having one fruit as your central theme, you can have this emblem foiled onto stationery, personalised favour boxes, stamped onto place cards and included on menu cards etc.

There are many other ways in which the fruity feel can be carried through into your other floral arrangements. Fill glass vases with whole lemons and limes and simply insert your chosen bloom. Whole bowls of fruit interspersed with co-ordinating flower heads can also work really well. Alternatively, slice other citrus fruits into fish bowl vases and top with a church candle. Even simple stacks of fruit at the centre of each table can work really well; plastic fruits can look very effective and are sometimes easier to position than real ones if you are concerned about fruit flies and soaring summer temperatures.

Another canny and fruit idea is to give guests something delicious upon arrival at your fruity inspired reception. Treat them to fruit filled Pimms drinks or suave cocktails containing olives. Homemade smoothies served in sugared glasses are also a great way to give guests an arrival drink with a twist. When it comes to table names and place settings, a nice fruity twist would be to name tables after various fruits. Or, if your theme has the theme of one particular fruit, you could name the tables after specific varieties e.g. Cantaloupe, Watermelon or Honeydew. You could also insert place names on sticks into a piece of fruit at each setting so guests know where they are sitting.

There are many ways to give guests a fruit themed wedding favour and your choice will largely be driven by your colour pallet and your own personal taste. If your theme is lemon and lime, give guests sweets housed in pastel green and soft yellow favour boxes. Tie the boxes with co-ordinating ribbon and top with candied slices of lemon or lime. If your theme is deep cherry red, give guests cherry jellies presented in claret organza bags. Complete the look of your place settings with double cherry stalk napkin ties. For those having tropical fruits as a theme, give guests dried papaya, dried pineapple and dried guava pieces. You could present these in pretty glass dishes and invite guests to help themselves, alternatively you could tie them in bright yellow and orange tulle and secure with curling ribbon. Other fruity favours could be on the more practical side apple peelers, orange zesters, lemon squeezers, apple corers and melon ballers make great gifts for wedding guests. And for those looking for a personalised favour, what about a fruity strawberry flavoured lip balm which you could personalise with your names and wedding date? A great way to give a fruity favour without the worry of fruit going bad in hot weather!

With regards to the menu, speak to your caterer about different 'fruity' options that could be made available for your wedding breakfast. They may suggest 'Fruits de mer' seafood cocktails or suggest fruit salad starters. Seasonal fruits such as cranberries can be served with red meats and for desserts, strawberries and cream go down well with even the most discerning wedding guests. If you are having a chocolate fountain, why not give guests a little parcel of fruit all ready for plunging into the sumptuous flowing chocolate?

For that final wow factor, you could give guests fruit based petit fours with fruit vodka shots or a slice of fresh fruit topped wedding cake.
