Creating A Las Vegas Style Wedding

Creating a Las Vegas themed wedding reception is really easy, whether you are having a post wedding party or simply want a gambling style event. There are a few key style ideas that can create an exciting and visually stunning wedding and here are some ways in which you can get it for yourself.

If you have already married in Vegas and are having a follow up party, you need to let guests know that's what you have done. A great way to personalise your stationery is to include a picture of yourselves on the big day on the front of your evening invites. To be in keeping with the theme, these would look best in black and white. For those having a full wedding in their hometown, send casino chip styled wedding invitations or simple invitations featuring the 'Welcome to Las Vegas' road-sign. This style theme can then be adopted across your personalised napkins, order of service cards, reply cards, menu boards, thank you cards, place cards and your table plans and numbers.

Anything to do with Las Vegas is bright, big and bold. Therefore, the main colour pallet for your event should be red mixed with black and white. This will bring a sense of drama to the proceedings. Dress your ushers and best man in black and white suits or even dinner jackets. Your bridesmaids will look fantastic in full length deep red velvet gowns and posies containing diamante stoned roses in pure white. If you are feeling especially daring black gowns finished with bright red sashes can look great on older bridesmaids though don't work so well on littler maids.

To continue the Vegas theme in style, ask your cake maker to produce a cake that is heavily featured on Vegas. They may have a back catalogue of similar cakes that they have already produced to give you some idea of what to have. This might be in the shape of Elvis Presley, a Roulette wheel, or the Little White Wedding Chapel. Cupcake towers are also popular this season, as are individually iced cookies; many of these can easily be produced in novelty shapes, so look in magazines and online to see what is achievable.

With regards to the floral centrepieces these need to be every bit as dramatic as your wedding cake. They need to be tall, red, over the top and incredibly eye catching if you are to pull this theme off. Choose grand prix roses, studded with diamantes in tall crystal filled glasses. Choose large show stopping feathers in black, white and red to finish your centrepieces off in style. Complete the look by scattering tables with table crystals in red and black stones interspersed amongst feathers.

How about naming your tables after Vegas landmarks such Caesar's Palace and The Little White Wedding Chapel? In fact, you could go one step further and have an Elvis impersonator perform at your reception. This could be accompanied by lots of scantily clad dancing girls with oversized feathery headpieces on! Some further ideas for the evening entertainment might be in the form of Roulette wheels, Black Jack tables and Magician shows.

With regards to wedding favours, there is so much choice and it really depends on the type of favour you wish to give your guests. These might come in the form of personalised mint tins featuring the 'Welcome to Las Vegas' sign, lipbalms in the shape of casino chips, dice bottle stoppers, chocolate playing cards or even chocolate dice.

Hopefully this has given you some sensational style ideas for creating the perfect Vegas themed wedding, where your only limit needs to be your imagination!
