James Bond Themed Weddings

When we think of English people, James Bond is one of the first characters we think of mainly because he is everything Britain stands for classic, true to his roots, sophisticated and alluring. A wedding with a James Bond theme is therefore a great way to get style and suavity into your big day and here are some easy ways to achieve this.

Firstly, you need to start with the invites. Send out your wedding invitations in the shape of cocktail shakers, martini glasses or featuring black female silhouettes. This will give guests a 'feel' for the event. Go one step further and invite guests to dress in evening attire ballgowns and tuxedos.

When it comes to wedding colour schemes, you need to think big and bold if you want to carry off the Bond style. Monochrome black and white tones look sensational when mixed with deep red tones. Dress bridesmaids in deep red gowns and have Grand Prix roses in your bouquet. Get the male members of your bridal party to don their tuxedos to give your event a sense of Bond-like occasion. Equally, if Goldeneye is more your thing, play heavily on gold as your main colour gold bridesmaids, gold table runners, gold decorations, gold cravats and gold pew ends.

Arrange to have your guests collected by a quintessentially British bright red bus. Adorn your bus with Union Jack bunting and ask your driver to play James Bond theme tunes to get the party goers in the mood. Why not hire an Aston Martin for the happy couple to make a speedy getaway in?

Upon arrival at your reception venue, present family and friends with martinis... shaken not stirred of course. Treat them to decadent canapes to give them a taste of things to come.

When it comes to room decor, many party companies loan life-size James Bond secret agent cut-outs. These are a great way to give your wedding venue a real sense of this iconic character as well as providing a great talking point for guests. Revolver cut-outs make fantastic table scatter if you can't find any table confetti to suit this theme.

When it comes to the seating arrangements, name your tables after Bond characters such as Q, M, Goldfinger, Pussy Galore and Octopussy. Decorate your table plan with black cocktail glass cut-outs or diamante stones to give it some secret agent sparkle. You can also decorate your venue with Union Jack bunting as used previously to decorate your bright red British bus.

When it comes to wedding favours with a James Bond flavour, go for black and white tuxedo boxes for the guys. Kids will love Bond car replicas to play with or water pistols if you think you dare! For your treasured female guests, give them diamond replica earrings presented in red velvet boxes or yummy chocolates in co-ordinating favour boxes decorated with diamante stones if jewellery takes you beyond your budget. For those having a Casino Royale themed event, chocolate dice make fantastic favours for all guests or anything with a casino feel would go down well.

With regards to entertainments, there are many choices especially for brides wanting a casino themed evening reception. Black Jack, the Roulette Wheel and Poker are great ways to keep your guests entertained. Continue the theme of your casino style event with a poker chip wedding cake; you could even give guests packs of cards to keep them entertained during dinner.
