How To Choose Your Wedding Invitations

One of the most important aspects of your big day is planning your wedding invitations. They are important for many reasons. Firstly, they will notify your questions of the happy occasion and will most likely set a trend about what kind of wedding you envisage. Often people start with their invitations and follow through with the same colour palette and theme for everything else.

Guests love to receive their own invitation. It makes them feel special. They also get a good glimpse of what you are planning for the day and leaves them guessing right up to when the bride walks down the aisle. In this regard, you might want to decide if you want a formal wedding or a more contemporary one.

Naturally the invitation has a sole purpose of advising your guests about the time, and the address of the church and reception hall. It also informs the guest where the venue is by inserting a map or having one printed on the back of the card. This is useful as it helps the guests to plan their trip, should they come from far.

Invitations can vary in price. There are over-the-top expensive ones, which are handmade and cost almost the same price as the entire wedding. Then there are those beautiful ones that are mid-range and affordable to the cheapest ones which are plain and look uninviting to say the least. Today we are spoiled for choice because there are a myriad of designs, colour schemes and type of material available to have the most elegant looking. You need to decide by considering some factors, such as kind of paper, volume, number of sheets, type of print, number of folds and if there are going to be any inserts.

To help you with your choices, you might want to go onto the internet and search for examples of invites and there different price ranges. Also look at the type of print you prefer, such as engraved, offset printed, embossed and thermo-graphed. You might also see something that could be handmade to your specifications, or you could decide on a box invitation.

Your budget is important so try to estimate how many people would be coming to your wedding and how much the entire occasion would cost. Use only three percent of the total cost for your invitations. Often you get a special deal if you order them early, so keep this in mind when you are sourcing suppliers.

Remember to take it easy when you plan your event, after all it is not the wedding invitations that will make your marriage work. If you plan well in advance your stress levels will not rise and both you and your partner will be happy with your final decision.
