How To Create Cheap Wedding Favours

Just because the world has gone into economic meltdown and purse strings are being tightened, there is no reason why you need to sacrifice the quality of your cheap wedding favours. Here are some inspiring ways in which you can create stunning favours without overspending.

By making your own wedding favours, you can really give your wedding a unique and special feel. If you are handy in the kitchen, why don't you make your own jam or preserve? These look fantastic when crammed into little jars and topped with co-ordinating lids to suit your theme. They can also be personalised by hand which will give them an added edge. The beauty of jam making is that it can be done in advance; no last minute panics!

Dipped toffee apples and chocolate dipped fruit kebabs are also great and cheap wedding favours. These look amazing when wrapped in cellophane and finished with co-ordinating ribbon.

Alternatively, beautifully coloured glass jars filled with bath salts also make for an unusual and cheap wedding favour. The glass jars can match your wedding colour scheme and finished with handwritten labels allowing them to double up as place settings.

Fudge, peppermint creams, marzipan fruits or cookies are also great kitchen made items that go down well and cheaply! with guests. There is so much choice when it comes to cookie cutters and if you are creative you can produce favours in shapes to suit your wedding theme.

If you are having a movie themed wedding, a budget favour that works really well is to give guests cellophane bags full of popcorn. This is a great way to save money on your favours yet give your guests a quirky and fun gift for a movie themed event!

For those of you who are not kitchen savvy or simply do not have the time, you could buy biscuits from a supermarket and pretty them by half dipping them in chocolate, icing or sprinkles. Once presented in clear cellophane and finished with curling ribbon, these make for low budget yet stunning looking favours.

Bunches of lavender and plant cuttings are the perfect favour for those having a garden party styled wedding. Present dried flowers in bunches tied with co-ordinating ribbon as cost effective yet spectacular favours. Equally, packets of seeds or plant cuttings give tables a casual yet organic feel and by the same token are not costly to produce.
